On May 14, 1909, several deacons and members of Flagg Chapel Baptist Church left the church and organized Union Baptist Church.
A major milestone in the history of Union Baptist Church is the transition to full-time ministry. Beginning January 2008, Union Baptist Church began having worship services every Sunday. Services are held at 8:00 a.m. on the first, third, and fifth Sundays; and 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays. With the full-time worship services evolved the organization of the Union Baptist Church Praise Team and the Youth Announcers. The church newsletter was also revived in 2008 with the distribution of monthly publications.
